Privacy Policy

Effective date: 29 September 2026

Our commitment

Dr. Doug Reflects: A Quiet Return is a space for slowing down and remembering who you are. The trust you place in us by visiting, reading, or sharing something of yourself matters deeply. This policy explains, as simply as we can, what information we collect, why, and how we care for it.

This policy applies to https://drdougreflects.com and any page, email, program, or service operated by Doug Gulbrandsen Inc. doing business as Dr. Doug Reflects.

What we collect

Information you choose to share. When you subscribe to reflections, write to us, join a program, or order a service, you may give us your name, your email address, and anything you include in a message.

Reflections and journaling responses. Some programs may invite you to share personal reflections. These can touch on faith, spiritual beliefs, emotions, or your inner life. We treat anything you share this way as especially private. We use it only to support your experience, and we never sell it or share it for marketing.

Assessment responses. Some services, such as the 4D Personal Portrait, include an online assessment hosted by PeopleKeys. Your answers are collected and stored by PeopleKeys, and the results are shared with Doug so he can write your Portrait. Your answers and your Portrait are read only by Doug, used only to prepare your Portrait and your conversation, and never sold or rented.

Purchase information. When you buy a program or service, payment is handled by Stripe. They collect your card details directly. We do not see or store your full card number. We receive only what we need to confirm your purchase, such as your name, email, and what you bought.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our site uses cookies and server logs to understand how it is used. This can include your browser type, general location, the pages you visit, and how long you stay. We look at this in aggregate to keep the site working well.

How we use your information

We use what you share to:

  • Send the reflections and emails you asked to receive
  • Provide the programs and services you have joined or ordered, including preparing your Portrait, and respond when you write to us
  • Process payments and keep records we are required to keep
  • Understand what resonates so the work can stay helpful
  • Protect the site and its visitors from misuse

We will only write to you about new offerings if you have chosen to receive our emails, and every email includes a simple way to unsubscribe.

Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Ever.

We share information only with trusted services that help us operate, such as Gmail for sending emails, Stripe for payments, PeopleKeys for assessments, and our website host. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or if it is needed to protect the safety of a person or the rights of our work.

Cookies

A cookie is a small text file your browser stores when you visit a site. We use cookies to keep the site working and to understand general visitor patterns. You can set your browser to refuse cookies. Some parts of the site may not work as smoothly if you do.

Your choices and rights

You can, at any time:

  • Unsubscribe from emails using the link at the bottom of any message
  • Ask to see the personal information we hold about you

To make any of these requests, write to [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, such as the European Union, the United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under local law, and we will honor them.

How we protect your information

We use reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect your information. Your information may be stored by our service providers in the United States or other countries where they operate.

If we learn of a data breach that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will act promptly to contain it, notify you and any required authority, and tell you what steps you can take.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires. When you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information, we will do so unless we are required to keep certain records, such as for taxes.

Children

This work is created for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a young person has shared information with us, please write to us and we will delete it.

Social media and other websites

When you comment on or follow our work on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, or Substack, those platforms' own privacy policies apply. The same is true for any outside website we link to, including PeopleKeys. We encourage you to read their policies.

If our business changes

If our business or its assets are ever transferred to someone else, your information may be part of that transfer. It would remain protected by the promises in this policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new effective date. If the changes are significant, we will let subscribers know by email. We will never use your information in a way that differs meaningfully from this policy without your consent.
